The center of Zhytomyr region is a city with a rich history. Zhytomyr is a "Polish capital of Ukraine" with the largest Pole diaspora. It’s a birthplace of Sergey Korolyov. Here is located the best museum of space aeronautics In Ukraine. Moreover, one of the most important orthodox cathedrals is built here. The city has saved its special spirit which you may feel during our excursion. 

It is a birthplace and place of study and work of many famous scientists, writers, and composers such as Jozeph Conrad, Mikhail Kotsyubinskiy, Sasha Cherniy, Alexander Kuprin, Maksimilian Voloshin, Alexander Oles, Vasiliy Zemlyak, Nikolay Lysenko,Boris Lyatoshinskiy, Alexander Dovzhenko, and many others. 

St. Sofia Roman-Catholic church built in 1748 is situated on Zamkovaya hill. Alongside Zhytomyr bishops’ palace is located. It is famous for its gallery with the richest collections, where all the pictures, saved from Zhytomyr region country houses, are shown. One of the most interesting sights is a water tower. A monument to Lariosik (a hero of Bulgakov's "White Guards") has been installed recently in the city. Zhytomyr is a city of 15 bridges (guyed bridge at a height of 40 meters), nice landscapes (Gagarin's park), and natural monuments (Head of Chatskiy; this rock is famous for its role in the city). The local lore museum's workers will tell about the relief and geology of the Zhytomyr region. 

For sure, Zhytomyr takes its place in human history as a birthplace of the chief designer of space aircraft – Sergey Korolyov. The house of Sergey Korolyov and modern cosmic museum, the building opposite, gives a chance to feel the spirit of cosmonautics and climate of genius' life. 

On the way to Zhytomyr we will visit Korostyshev, a patrimonial estate of Olisar earls. We will see a Roman Catholic Church as well as the monument to Gustav Olisar, who is the most famous city possessor, his country house, and the ancient park.
